Our Beginning

GOYHZW grew from an appreciation for Chinese beadwork, Buddhist symbolism and the quiet rhythm of making things by hand. We were drawn to beadwork because a small object can hold more than color and texture. It can mark an intention, remember a person or bring the mind back to the present moment.

Our name represents a simple wish: to gather objects with cultural meaning and help them travel into everyday life. We do not believe jewelry should dictate a person's fate. We believe meaning grows through the story, intention and memories the wearer gives it.

How We Choose Each Piece

We work with specialist Chinese makers and focus on design direction, bead selection, color and material matching, specification checks, finished-piece inspection and careful packaging. Crystal is chosen for clarity and natural variation; agate for grounded color; sandalwood and redwood for warmth and texture; and bodhi beads for their long association with contemplation and practice.

Natural materials are never perfectly identical. Small differences in grain, tone and shape are part of the piece, not flaws to be hidden.

Symbols for Everyday Life

In Chinese and Buddhist traditions, symbolic beads are often associated with compassion, protection, steadiness, mindfulness and renewal. Many people wear or hold them during meditation, before a difficult conversation, while beginning a new chapter or when they need a quiet reminder to return to what matters.
